We are seeking a friendly, honest, thoughtful sales professional with excellent people and selling skills, and a passion for riding motorcycles, or be willing to learn, to join our sales team.
If you feel this is a good fit for you, please email us your resume and cover letter to email@example.com. Do not contact the dealership directly.
MUST HAVE prior “big ticket” sales experience and should include following a well defined sales process selling vehicles, motorcycles, RVs, boats, spas, or similar expensive items that require financing.
MUST HAVE prior demonstrated job stability selling big ticket items at one company continuously for at least 3 years.
Candidates must enjoy talking with Harley-Davidson riders, work well with others in a teamwork setting, be comfortable selling expensive items that usually require financing, have a high level of motivation and initiative, a solid work ethic, good verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, and computer and smart phone proficiency. The position is commission based.
An experienced motorcycle sales person with the characteristics noted above should be able to sell 15 motorcycles per month. At our average commission of $390 per bike sold, selling 180 bikes per year results in $70,200 in commissions. In addition, while selling 15 bikes per month, a $1000 per month bonus is given for completing entries and keeping them up to date in our CRM system, which would earn an additional $12,000 per year. Finally, each customer service survey with a perfect score earns a $100 bonus. If just 10% of the 180 bike sales result in a perfect score, that adds $1800 per year, for a grand total of $84,000 per year. Using the same criteria, a less experienced salesperson selling 10 bikes per month should earn about $50,000.
Commissions are not capped. As repeat and referral business is built, compensation will continue to increase. This is a full time position and weekend work is required.
Includes health and generous vacation benefits.
IMPORTANT: When applying, please include a cover letter explaining why you feel you would be a good fit for this position, and what formal sales process training you have received.
This position is available on either a part time or full time basis. Starting pay is $11.25/hour.
